We at Willie Duggan Lighting believe that the kitchen is one of the most important places in the home when it comes to lighting.

The kitchen in the past was purely a work area, where food was prepared and then served in the dining room. Today the kitchen has become the hub of the house and as such it needs to be a relaxing place to enjoy a mug of tea and a chat, a dining area to host a couple of close friends and some bottles of wine and a work station to prepare a world of delicious foods

Light is the most important element of a room when it comes to all of these things. Here are some ideas we have put together to get your lighting layout underway.

To set a relaxing mood use Led recessed downlighters for overall low level light this will create a warm effect and is extremely energy efficient. Use a decorative piece as your main vocal point, normally over the table works well and for all exposed work surfaces use high level lighting to provide sufficient light to work areas. Also lighting under presses can give great light to work areas and is visually an extremely nice effect.
